Using the size of a text layer to connect a ramp
I'm trying to do something simple : I want to attach a ramp effect to a text layer but have the start of the ramp be at the anchor point of the text layer (by default lower left) and the end to be at the same x value as the start, but to have as y value the height of the text layer. If I pickwhip th...

Re: Increment Rotation At Markers
Yes, sorry if I wasn't clear. I'm basically trying to find ways to control the evolution of a wiggle parametrically, ie without keyframes from a slider. Markers are one good way I hadn't thought of...
Thanks!

Re: Increment Rotation At Markers
Hey Lloyd
This might come in handy for me on a current project. How would you combine this with a wiggle? ie if I wanted the wiggle to increase based on your script?
Thanks

Loops visual
Here is good little reference as to what the various types of loopOut expressions can do.

Definitely handy when you are too tired to read the manual!

Zoetrope effect
Hello
I'm trying to create a zoetrope effect where a still is panning accross the comp and looping. I'm trying to find the right motion to make it look like "persistence of vision" is being created.
Does anybody have an idea of how to achieve that?
Thanks

Re: Lock property script
So what would be a good way to disable a time remap effect...These are often tedious to setup, but sometimes you need to look at your layer (in the context of the comp) without any remapping.
Is there a way to "turn it off", as it were?

Re: Track Averging alteration?
I'm following this thread with great interest, as I feel a lot of people in the AE VFX community will benefit from it. Nab, would you mind posting your final result in the Scripts Library section so it is easy to find?
Thanks

Use sampleImage() to create a color picker
In this tutorial I will explain how to use the awesome new sampleImage() command (CS3 only) to create a simple color picker effect. Thanks to Mylenium, Dan Ebberts and Paul Tuersley for helping me figure this out in crunch time! I worked on a project for which we had to create a color picker that al...

Re: Increasing opacity
Paul
I'm sorry, I tried this in the peak of crunch time while I was rendering the project. I guess I was hasty.
I'll try to give it a shot again asap.
Thanks

Re: Increasing opacity
Stange, if I apply it to the opacity stream of a layer in a large comp the opacity goes straight to and stays at 100%

Re: Increasing opacity
How would you modify this expression if you have 10 layers in a comp that need the random opacity fade in, but there are 50 layers in the whole comp. In other words, the index count is not the right method (if I understand the expression correctly...)

Re: Time remap expression for pulldown
Yeah, the problem is that there seems to be some re-timing done in the footage...That is why the duplicate frames are not consistent clip to clip... The reason I asked was because I am rotoscoping these clips and the duplicate frames just mean duplicate mask kf's. If I could get rid of them procedur...

Re: Time remap expression for pulldown
It isn't uniform....I've got a couple of 60fps footage that was originally shot on film, digitized and then slowed down. They are now in HD, so no fields. It goes from 111211122111222112 to 12112122 and all flavors in between..I guess depending on how much the footage was slowed down. So pulldown is...

Forum look
Since a lot of users don't like the current look of the site, which I'm still working on, I've activated the option for you to choose which look you want. If you go to your user control panel and in your board preferences, you will see the option to change the style of the board. If you choose subsi...
