Wow! That's awesome!

I mean, it's not awesome that you can't download it, it's awesome that this thing is popular enough to run out nab's bandwidth!!

He hasn't checked in here in a while, I hope he notices it.

In the meantime, tonight when I get home, I will post TrackerViz to my own website for downloading, and I will change the download link to reflect this.

sean

ps - wow, i really can't believe that many people have downloaded! amazing! I wonder when my own bandwidth will run out...

brooklyn over at SimplyCG brought to my attention a small bit of functionality that could use some altering for v2.0.

When using the Tracker to Shape function, TrackerViz creates the mask points at what appears to be the Feature Center, not the Attach Point. Is it possible to have it use the Attach Point in these instances instead?

just logging here for the future... :)

nab, you still around?

TrackerViz v2 Wish List

1 - dockable! :)

2 - checkbox for leaving the mask open, not closed, when using the "to Shape" functions.

3 - create the mask points at the Attach Point instead of what appears to be the Feature Center when using the "to Shape" functions.

4 - A "Corner Pin" function, where you select 4 tracks or layers and it creates a corner pinned layer. (I don't know what default size we could use for the new layer - maybe it could be user-entered?). It would be great if this function used CC Corner Pin instead of the regular Corner Pin.

5 - "to Shape" functions should retain custom curves and weights on bezier or rotobezier masks.

6 - ALOT of people have emailed me saying that they get the "rename the layers" error message when trying to average tracks or layers together, even when they have changed the names of the layers, solids, etc... I usually recommend saving, closing AE, then reopening AE and the project, then trying again. It would be great to figure out what is going on in this instance. This is by far the email I've gotten the most regarding TrackerViz, other than how awesome it is.

I had the "rename layers" pop up as well. In my experience, you have to make sure that EVERY layer is different. Not just the tracker layers that you are averaging together or the layers that TrackerViz creates. But every single layer.

So, for instance, if you happen to have footage items that you've duplicated, you need to get rid of those. TrackerViz doesn't seem to go off the layer name, but rather the source name. So you can't just rename the layer and bypass the error message. You have to get rid of the layer (by deleting it from the comp or precomping it away).

If anyone else has a different experience, please post....

I thought this was the case the first time I encountered it, but I don't believe so. In fact, I think, in the second video tutorial, I duplicate a solid layer a bunch of times and it works just fine (the source name stayed the same, but the layer name was automatically incremented by AE). I know I've definitely done it many times, so I don't think this is the case. I think it's something buggy in the code. Closing and reopening usually straightens it out for me.

Hmm. Actually, you're right. I went and ran through a typical tracking scenario again. With duplicated solids and footage.

As long as the layer names are different, I don't get the "rename layers" error. So it seems that TrackerViz DOES go off layer name, rather than source name.

Moral of the story? If you get the "rename layers" error, do what it says and go and rename the layers so that they are different names! 8)

Anyone?
