hi,

i have a problem here
i have a Shape Layer with a Beam effect i need to move with the ShapeLayer.
i've got expressions set up for the starting and ending points, and it all seems to work fine, untill i try to Offset the position (with a Add Poss Point Controll)

so my question is, how can i hange the position of the beam via the Add pos Expression Control, so it seemt to be the same layer.
hope i'm making sence here :?

i can't use Pre-Comping and Just Parenting...

Thanks to all!

How exactly, do you want it to work?

i'd like it to work as if it was parented.

when you move the beam and rotate it, the beam will still rotate along the anchor Point.

How about just putting the beam and its controls on a separate solid and parent that to the shape layer?

I'm afraid i can't do that since there will come paticles out of the end and startig point of the beam.

i came a little bit further with the Expression, but it only seems to work correct when X and Y offset are the same. (doenst realy work as it should though)
