I am constantly wanting to parent things to nulls. I usually need the null to be at the position and rotation of the object. So I add a null, parent it to object, zero transforms out, un-parent the null and then parent my object to the null. Works just like 'group' in C4D.

Would be great if someone could knock-up a script with a button that does this.
