timesplice script

Hi All,

I am hoping someone can help with all or part of my desire.

I have been proud enough to be able to develop a near real time, time splice system.
As featured in:
http://www.fxguide.com/article323.html

Capture to output @ high def with fully stabilised results in 15 seconds.
It takes 5 seconds for the images to download and rename files with an Apple script, however, it takes me another 10 seconds to:
1. place the image files in a new folder,
2. import the .jpeg image sequence into AE,
3. drag into Comp (or timeline)
4. paste transforms from clipboard
5. screen render.

Is it possible to script the manual tasks from step 2 to 5 to help automate and speed up the process?

Hi Mark,

It shouldn't be too hard to do that with a script.

Scripting can't paste to/from the clipboard, but there are ways around that. From reading the fxguide article, it sounds like you're stabilising the reference plate and then want to apply those transforms to each subsequent take. The script could duplicate the layer, or create a duplicate comp and replace the footage to achieve the same result. Scripting also can't set off a RAM Preview, but it can set up a render.

I'd be happy to have a crack at writing it. It'd be useful if you could send an example project (no footage) and a bit more detail on exactly how you'd like it to work. My email is paul.tuersley@btinternet.com.
