Nice script. I remembered it being here from a long time ago, and needed something like this today. Formatting of the returned results was a little messed up on Windows but still legible.
Cheers

Destroying UI objects
I have a panel inside a window with a bunch of child objects in it. I want to destroy the panel and all of it's children - clearing them from memory, so I can create a new panel with new content in it's place. I don't want to close the window that the panel resides in. Any ideas? TIA Chris Kelley ht...

It is fairly easy to modify my script to have it add any number of effects (like the broadcast spec for example). If this is beyond your scripting knowledge, send me an email and i'd be happy to customize it.. Thanks Lloyd, but my comment was in reference to something I've used in the past. I was j...

Moving Items into a Folder
When the script runs, a folder is created along with some comps. Right now, when the script is done I have the new folder, and all the new comps, all created in the root of the project window. Any ideas on how to either create the comps inside the new folder to start with? Or move them into the new ...

cool stuff, I use something similar for when I'm preparing for delivery. For example, i design and animate at 720x540, but deliver at 720x486 D1 with broadcast Spec applied... so just select the comps you want to use, run the script, voila, bunch of 486 comps with the effect applied. 'time saver' as...

update
Just a quick bump to let everyone know that there has been a quick edit to the file - it was lacking a test to make sure the name of the original layer isn't too long to create the precomp with (can only be 31 bytes) - same download spot though - thanks!

Widget Creator for Invigorator
Working with the comp camera for Zaxwerks Invigorator can be a pain. When trying to work with your comp from views other than "active" reveals that Invig doesn't display in these views, and it can be tough to orient the camera properly without knowing where it should be pointing. So I wrot...

Select a Layer
Wondering if it is possible, and if so what is the syntax so I can select a layer in my timeline... I do not need to check if one is already selected, I need to actually have the script select the layer - i.e. - "if X effect is applied, Select the layer" or similar.
TIA,
Chris Kelley
