Move layer based on final position
Is there an expression that could be applied to any layer, at any position, that would then take that layer's current position, have it start at a lower vertical position (say 30 pixels lower) and have it move up to the current position in a set amount of time? I have dozens of text layers that I ne...

Re: Random ones and zeros
Thanks Atomic, but I've finally found a solution on the Creative Cow forum:

Random ones and zeros
Is there a simple expression (or not so simple) that randomly changes a string of ones and zeros back and forth? I've seen a few articles that sort of explain this, but they're much more involved than I need.

Re: Rack focus slider
Oops. Never mind. I was just going in the wrong direction with the pickwhip.

Rack focus slider
I'm trying to control a rack focus with a Slider. I used the pickwhip to attach a Slider control on a Null Layer to my camera's focus distance. But it never works. When I adjust the slider it always returns to whatever the camera is originally set at. I can't get the Slider to control the camera's f...

Need to organize scripts
I have dozens and dozens of scripts installed. When I go to select a script all I see is a very long list of scripts in sort of alphebetical order - they seem to be alphabetical within each of their own folders. But the list I see in After Effects doesn't show the folder names. Is there some way to ...

Script to Render, Quit, Launch file
Is this possible? I need to run After Effects and then render a 3D animation in another program. It's not practical to do both at once, so I'd like to have After Effects render and then have it lauch my suspended 3D render file. I assume the order would be 1) AE renderings finish, 2) the script lauc...

Refer to layer property in another comp
Is it possible to refer to a layer property in a pre-comp that is now a layer in the main comp? I'm trying to have the source point for the Shine plugin on a layer in my main comp follow the position of a null object in the pre-comp (which is now a layer in my main comp).
Hope that makes sense.

Scheduling a render
Does anyone have a script that can start a render at a later, scheduled time? I'd like to be able to have my 3D program render an animation and then have After Effects start it's render at a time that I'm sure the 3D render will be finished. I'm using 6.5 on a Mac.
Thanks.
