Script to orient a 3d layer towards the camera
Hi! Is there any script that would help me orient new 3d layers towards the AE camera? I often control the camera with nulls and that makes straightening new 3d layers manually (so that they face the camera straight) quite tedious. It would be really nice to have a one-click solution that would move...

Re: Script to create a backwards compatible AE-project
Hi!
Any words on this script yet? Has it turned out to be a very difficult task?

Script to create a backwards compatible AE-project
Hi! In my work I often am forced to use also older versions of After Effects, since some of my associates dont have the latest version of the software. It would be really helpful to have some solution for automatically making the work that now needs to be done manually in order to convert a project ...

Re: Make a tracked point move at constant speed
I'm still interested in the possibility to do this. Even after buying a quite expensive tripod my pans are sometimes less smooth than they should be. I find it especially hard to to keep the motion smooth during long (sometimes almost 360') pans. I still think it should be doable: first track a poin...

Re: Make a tracked point move at constant speed
Thanks for the reply! The problem with reqular stabilizing is the lost resolution/black borders. The way I see it, if the stabilization was done by using time remapping to make the movement constant, there would be no need for upscaling the image. Maybe I got it wrong though, since nobody seems to c...

Re: Automatically change output module file name
My first post might have been too complicated -sorry about that. It would help me a great deal even if there was just a script that would automatically give my output composition the same name as the project has (after hitting a button in the script panel maybe). Is there anything like that available?

Automatically change output module file name
Hi! I have been working on a massive project that requires hundreds of lower thirds and my wrists allready hurt from all that typing. =) After finishing the actual design, my workflow has been like this: 1. Add the output composition to the render queue and use a output module preset to give the mod...

Make a tracked point move at constant speed
Hi! This might be a tough one, so I apologize already! Here it goes: If I have motion tracked (let's say a red x-mark) an object in a panning shot, is there a way to make that tracked feature move at constant speed at all times, even if the camera motion almost stops in the middle of the shot? I'm t...

Re: Roulette expression
I have now tested the script in a real world situation and it works great, I'm having alot of fun! :D So thank you very much for helping out with this kobyg, you are a genious! On a side note, would it be difficult to make a button in the script that would perform the script, so that I could have it...

Re: Roulette expression
Thanks again! What I'm trying to do is this: I have a bunch of students in my animation class. I want to be able to question them about their homework/other assignments so that it is not I who chooses the one who has to answer but random luck instead. I think it could be exciting for the students if...

Re: Roulette expression
Thanks for helping out! If I understand you correctly, is it simply not possible in ae to get different results for exactly the same comp on different renders, instead to have a different results a parameter needs to be manually changed every time? I know this can be done in Flash since the web is f...

Re: Roulette expression
Hi! Thank you very much for your help, and sorry -I had no idea that it would get that complicated! The expression works very well otherwise, but when I preview the animation, it results in the exact same position every time. I would really need to stop it in a random position after the initial anim...
