moving motion tracks that jump to different areas for periods of time is usually done by selecting the keyframes that need moved and visually lining up the paths (at least, that's how i've always done it). It's actually super easy. if you want some tutorials on track averaging, I made some, using sc...

Hi Mylenium, Thanks for pointing me to that one! :) But, it looks like that one still doesn't let you pin an image that exceeds the space of the rectangle made by the 4 corners. Does it? It doesn't list anything like that in its feature description. I just can't help but think doing a simple planar ...

Is this possible?

I'm just throwing this out there, I have no clue if this is possible or not, but it seems to me like it should be. doing a four corner track in AE is a great way to cheat a 3d track (like boujou or syntheyes), as long as the image you're tracking in does not go beyond the boundaries of the rectangle...

all you really have to do is click the link up above in the first post for the RotAE1.1. your computer should ask you where to save it. Just pick a place, click ok, and now the jsx file will be on your computer. put it in your AE scripts folder, and it will then show up in the scripts menu in AE (yo...

it's certainly possible to lock the ends of the rope to the doorknobs using tracking and applying the data to the anchor point and position/rotation/scale values. But, if the image of the rope is a still image and you want it to sag and have all kinds of rope dynamic movement, that's sounds REALLY h...

i work in the film industry, and everything I do at work, like you, is owned by the company I work at while I create it. NDA's and contracts are standard operating procedure at every single job I've ever had. And always, on the first page, it mentions exactly those things - they own the work I do wh...

thanks, byronnash, for the encouragement and tips. Certainly, if I finish this, I will definitely be posting it here for everyone to use! But I've recently decided that this technique I was trying to automate for improving the quality of miniDV footage might not be the best technique I can think of....

Awesome demo last night, Alex! It really got me excited about expressions, and i'm certainly gonna be checking out more of them here. I don't think I realized just how little was actually involved in making them. That wiggle one was an excellent way to add some natural camera shake to an all-CG shot...

i guess i'll try to get it together, but if i can't get it in a few days, i'd love it if someone could write it. that way, i'll at least know where i went wrong, if i try first. really - it's easy to bring in footage? i thought that would be hard, i haven't seen a reference to importing footage anyw...

Need some help with some scripting

Hi Gang, Well, I'm no scripter! I really enjoy using scripts, but just have the most difficult time writing them. I basically can't write them, I kinda take pieces from other scripts and patch together what I want a script to do, and try to work on it until it works. Not the best way... But I ...

Hi Alex,

I'd really like to come! I'm not 100% sure if I can make it to Hollywood by 7, though, getting off work at 6 in Marina Del Rey. Do they take late comers, or do the coors close at 7?

just select all the keyframes and CTRL C (copy) them, then CTRL V (paste) them on the anchor point. then turn off the stopwatch on the position layer to delete all the keyframes.
