Hello I don't know of any complete text book about expressions and/or scripting. You will usually find good intros in the Meyer books (I think one of them has an extra sample chapter on expressions in the bonus cd), in Total Training DVD's, and probably in Angie Taylor's books. But your best bet to ...

Create a pseudo 3-way color corrector in AE

AE masta Stu Maschwitz created a cool animation preset that will allow you to fake the power of a 3-way color corrector tool. You can find it on his blog (if you don't know about his place yet, you'll definitely have some reading to do there) : http://prolost.blogspot.com/2005/06/three-way-color-cor...

Core and holdout matte creation

I had a job recently where I had a huge set of shots to key. At that time I wasn't savvy enough to use the core/hold out matte approach, doing all my garbage matting with masks instead of clean procedural mattes. Now my keying workflow would look something like this : 1/Select a footage item from th...

Because each slider will represent a different value....

6.5 is probably not mandatory for this expression, but for scripts and for a lot of cool new stuff, it is.

also: apply three times the "Slider Control" effect to the Video layer that makes it sound like you are Multiplying a value by 3 the way it's worded, just figured I would add that. How is that? A Slider control is not a specific value, it can hold any "slidable" value, i.e any v...

Re: a screenshot / .AEP would be great

Next step is to apply three times the "Slider Control" effect to the Video layer you want to affect. Name them : "frequence min", "frequence max" and "frames" this is the only part I am not following: so you copy the Slider and paste it 3 times into the video...

Hello everybody I'm still very curious to find out if anybody feels like connecting vidpat's "FTP after Render" script (see the top of this thread) with Byron's "Upload to Client"( http://www.aenhancers.com/viewtopic.php?t=98 ) scripts. I'm always in need of something like this, ...

The hack

As you all noticed, the site was hacked last week. The hackers claimed to be Moroccan islamist activists. Whatever. At any rate, the site is back up, on a new host, and we should be fine from now on. Please make sure to check posts that have links that look like : http://aczet.free.fr/phpBB2/... Tho...

Has anybody gotten a chance to interface this script with Byron's concept of website integration? In other words, AE renders and uploads, a .txt file is generated, uploaded aswell, and used to populate a database from which information can be retrived to create an HTML page for client viewing? I'm w...

Presumably you're talking about the [ and ] keys. Is it just for setting the in/out points or trimming them as well ( alt-[ and alt-] ) Writing a script that changes the keyboard prefs sounds easy enough. What lines would you change, and to what? Actually both keys, because the brackets are not eas...

Paul, I noticed a catch with this script. Yesterday I had setup a sort fo "master" render project for a bunch of other projects. I imported all the projects that had queued items and set the master render project to run (with render_and_shutdown). One or more outputs modules had already be...

Set Layer in/out points

This script would be useful mostly for non-english keyboard users. For those of us in that case, using the essential set in/set out point shortcuts require going into the prefs file and changing at least three lines of the file. If you are using AE on several machines, this can be a real pain. So as...
