Well from time to time i need to work with project of more than 500 still footage. I use to make proxy of all of them but i have not find such a way to make proxy with one click: When i selct more than one file the menu get dimmed, and i must select file by file.

May be there is a script to make all this, with all proxy of all levels of each Photoshop files?

Thanks very much

I would think this is pretty easy.

1. Make a Output Module that utilizes the "Import and make proxy" post render action.

2. Set that Output Module as the default.

3. Select all footage and drag into Render Queue or choose Make Movie.

4. You may want to use the NewRenderLocations script to send them all to one directory.

That'd save you the time of selecting each one for "make proxy" individually.

This doesn't seem work: i need to get one still frame as proxy, not a still sequence.

try setting the first comp duration to one frame and then add all comps to the queue and then do as suggested by scribbling but then u need to reset all the comp durations to an new duration thru a another scirpt

then
3. Set in Preferences>Import the still footage length to 0:00:00:01
4. Select all footage and drag into Render Queue or choose Make Movie.

This'll do to make a 1 frame proxy for each file.

ok the problem is:

When i use the menu entry "Make proxy" i have to do it one by one, because there is not a script or almost a shortcut.
BUT ... i get a proxy for each still.

You can try and check in the Render panel post render action.

If i do as all of you suggest i get not a proxy of the footage (the still),
BUT i get a proxy of the Comp made to render the footage, even if one frame long.

have a look in the post render action and try...

Thanks

Try this new version (AE CS3 required): createProxies.zip
Usage:
1. select comps or footages in the project panel
2. specify render settings
3. click Proceed
