change opacity on the part of a layer that is overlapping

Hi, ok so I've got a bunch of layers that I want to cross disovle between at the moment I have to manual. Change the opacity of the layer above from 100 - 0 at the overlapping ends of each layer. Is there a script that will automatcaly change the opacity of layers that are over lapping.
