AE 7 won't update in the background

I know this isn't the place for this but maybe someone can help.

AE 6.5 would continue to update while in the background ... AE 7 stops when it's in the background. This drives me nuts ... when I have a slow project I'll set it to show me a full frame and go do something else while it updates ... in AE 7 when you come back it hasn't done a thing. AE 7 requires you have it in the forground to do anything.

Is this possibly hidden in that huge prefs file? Is there anyone who knows how to get it to ignore background/forground?

i agree this can be annoying, what i do is set the work area to start on the frame i want to see and I start a RAM preview. RAM previews continue working when AE is in the background.
