My current dilemma: I will often create multiple graphics from a similar template, for say, a special event. It could be a series of lower third names, etc. Obviously, the ideal way to do this would be to create the template, finalize it, and then build subsequent graphics from there. However, this is the real world and changes need to be made after the series of 25 graphics are done.
I'm wondering if there's a good way to apply changes across the board: typeface, positions of graphics, colors, and so on, while leaving the unique aspects of each composition alone (such as actual text of names).
Is there a script out there already that does this? If not, are there any suggestions to a good approach to the problem?
Idea for a script

That would be fairly custom from what it sounds like. Although, it doesn't sound overly difficult. If each of the elements are the same as far as layers and properties, it would be easy to write a script that changes all the properties. If it is a matter of different types of comps that share some common elements like fonts or colors, you could get by with good naming conventions or some sort of tagging with comments or markers. I'm not aware of anything prebuilt like this though.
